ARCH 201 - Principles of Architecture III
Fall 2016
Located at the Menil Campus within Houston’s Museum District, this art colony is aimed at negotiating the introversion as promoted by its many distant prototypes, and the extroversion as required by the context of the site. Based on a conceptual thesis of mirroring and breaking, it evokes tradition while encouraging social interaction, serves as an urban shelter for secluded living while functioning as a public gathering space where cooperation, art, and inspiration coexist.
