Starting with a series of aggregation studies, this project is aimed at analyzing formal operation as an approach to architectural design. With its site in Bogota, Colombia, and its form derived from a simple shifting strategy, this America Culture Center is a criticism of the many traditional public buildings surrounding the site. The shifting of the base blocks destabilizes the frontality of the traditional buildings while opens up the institutions along the slipped seams, and the outcome is a construction that is essentially open to the general public.
